Obvious Engine is a new vision-based AR startup that will work with indie games companies, digital artists, developers and brands to leverage our computer vision technology within their own apps.
Our initial prototype for the engine was one of the first AR engines for iOS that could track objects without using traditional markers (this was showcased in Chatterbucks, a global Staff Favourite in the iTunes App Store). Back then we didn't have a name for the engine and we kept things under wraps as we worked away at improving the technology.
We now believe our 3D pose estimation and tracking (the stuff that make an augmented experience feel real) is ahead of other companies in the space. We also support Unity 3D and OpenGL in our development pipeline, so the graphical and interactive possibilities are almost limitless.
Obvious Engine can also track images on curved surfaces and is available now as both a developer SDK, and as part of a bespoke app build where either ourselves or a partner take care of the build on your behalf.
