We've just launched Twurn, a new app for you all to play with.
What is Twurn?
Twurn is a Twitter app that helps groups of people resolve potentially life-threatening conflicts, such as who has to make the coffee (or take out the rubbish, or whatever) and then tweets the outcome to everyone involved.
How does Twurn work?
Twurn uses True Randomness to decide whose twurn it is to do something. Once you have entered a task to twurn, the eternal mystery of Atmospheric Noise is used to create a truly random (and fair) outcome, and then Twurn tweets the task and who has to perform it.
How do I use Twurn?
You just enter a task and enter the names for the pool of contestants. You can enter people's twitter IDs (e.g. @harmonypark), or just their name if they aren't on Twitter. It's that simple!
Will Twurn solve all of the world's problems?
It is probably too early to say, but solving the world's conflicts one twurn at a time is definitely a viable goal. If everyone started twurning through their internal and external conflicts it would at least be a fair & honest starting point.
Do I need an account?
If you have a Twitter account then you already have a Twurn account - just login to Twurn with your Twitter details and you are ready to go. If you aren't on Twitter, don't worry, you can still use Twurn without logging in; but you don't get a tweet and only tweeted Twurns are "Official".
- If you lose 3 twurns in a row with the same group of people you get a free pass for the next time you lose a twurn within that group.
